These tunnels are built beside Darwin Wharf Precinct on Kitchener Drive during World War II by the Civil Construction Corps to protect Darwin’s oil supplies from the Japanese. It is reopened in 1992 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Bombing of Darwin. Today, it is a very unique tourist attraction and interesting historical sight in Darwin!
