It was August last year when the Resorts World Genting’s new state-of-the-art cable car started operating. Situated at the new Awana Transportation Hub, the Awana SkyWay consists of 99 cable cars which can carry 3,000 passengers every hour on the 620-metre climb from Awana station to the SkyAvenue station. You would surely love the beautiful view of the 130-million-year-old rainforest that surrounds Resorts World Genting, and the site of the future Twentieth Century Fox World theme park.
The 2.8-kilometre journey only takes 10 minutes!
With a top speed of six metres per second, you can reach the top in just 10 minutes – yup, a 2.8-kilometre journey in just 10 minutes! Amazing, isn’t it? Visitors can opt to land at Chin Swee station and witness stunning views or wait until the final stop at SkyAvenue station. Each gondola can carry 10 passengers, some are fitted with glass floors, so passengers can enjoy the breathtaking views below. And each gondola has two USB ports where you can charge your mobile phone.
The Awana SkyWay operates from 7:00 am until midnight, seven days per week. Tickets for the standard gondola are available at RM8 per person. The express boarding pass is available at RM40. If you want to ride the glass floor gondola, you can buy a ticket which is RM50 for an individual.
