A freshwater lake located on the island of Dayang Bunting, which is the second largest island among the 99 islands in Langkawi.

You probably wonder about the lake’s name, so here it goes… According to the legend, there was once a man named Mat Teja who fell in love with princess Mambang Sari at the lake. They get married and were blessed with a son, who unfortunately died. Their son was put in the lake water letting him to rest in peace. It is said that the princess, as a reconciliation with their misfortune, blessed all women who have difficulty in bearing a child. The locals believe that they would become fertile once they take a dip into the glorious lake water.

3. Mirror Lake (Tasik Cermin)

Away the bustling city of Kuantan hides a pristine place with the name “Lake Chini”. This lake is considered as the second largest freshwater lake with its 12.565 acres of lush wetlands. Lake Chini is said to be guarded by a legendary monster, while the historians believe that it is the site of an ancient Khmer city, when Khmer empire reached the Malay peninsula.
