Surely sea with a mesmerizing beach would make a lot of Instagram worthy photos. But I haven’t thought that it could go beyond that. That you can actually mirror yourself with its very thin seawater yet super clear! Wondering where it is?

Situated between Klang and Kuala Selangor, is a small and quiet town called Sasaran, Selangor. Paralleled to the renowned historic and photography location in Bolivia, Sasaran Beach is said to be Malaysia’s very own Salar de Uyuni. It offers panoramic views and a majestic reflection on the water surface.

Sasaran Beach is very known for being the “Mirror in the Sky” for it awesomely offers a very nice background and mirrors the images, thus making the photo a really picture-perfect one. However, you won’t be able to witness this phenomenon everyday, it only happens for four to five days every month. It depends on the tide. You will have a mirror effect photos only on the right day wherein sea level is not too high or low. It should be balanced to make it perfect.

Wondering about the size of this mirror-in-the-sky place? Well, it just about 100 football fields that are combined together. Whoa! It is also the habitat of marine life, so don’t be surprised if you see a lot of shellfish, jellyfish and small crabs.

Taking photos here don’t need to be photoshopped to make it perfect, just the right angle where sea (mirroring the image) and the sky will surely make a perfect one.

Since the number of people who know the existence of this place increases, as well as the pilgrims, Malaysia’s rare beauty, must be protected. Taking care and keeping Mirror in the Sky’s clean environment will surely help in protecting this magnificent place.

How to get to Mirror in the Sky

Since it located off the coast, you have to take a 45 minutes boat ride out of the Straits of Malacca to reach this piece of heaven land.

Best season to get here

The mirror effect doesn’t happen every day, it only appears twice a month which is during a new moon and full moon.

Reminders:

– Don’t forget to apply sunscreen to avoid sunburn.

– Make sure to pee or whatever before going here: the whole trip doesn’t have toilet facility.

– Since there are a lot of marine life on the sea, it is recommended to walk on barefoot. Don’t leave rubbish anywhere.
