Police had blocked main roads in Kuala Lumpur to meet the upcoming 2016 OCBC Kuala Lumpur Bike Ride on 13 November 2016 which will flagged off at Dataran Merdeka at 6:30am.

Due to this event, numbers of road were blocked including Raja Road (Jalan Raja), Ding Road (Jalan Sultan Salahuddin), Tun Ismail (Jalan Tun Ismail), Raja Raub Road (Jalan Raja Laut), Sultan Ismail (Jalan Sultan Ismail), Ampang Road (Jalan Ampang), P. Ramil Road (Jalan P. Ramlee), Kinmen and Matsu law (Jalan Dang Wangi) Gu Tun Abdul Rahman (Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman) and Ding Road (Jalan Sultan Hishamuddin).

Kuala Lumpur city police chief Datuk Amar Singh said that this year’s activity has 2,000 participants at from local and abroad which is remarkably more than in previous years. During the conference at Kuala Lumpur Police Contingent headquarters last 7 November 2016, Datuk Amar Singh said that police will maintain order regarding road closure and ensure that traffic remains smooth. The event is organized by Multigreen Events and sponsored by the Federation of Malaysian cycling.

In line with this, OCBC Cycle KL 2016 Implemented Committee chairman Datuk Naim Mohamad noted that this year’s event will be subject to change previous year’s 12 kilometers race as it will be expanded to 42 kilometers. Participants need to cover three laps of race to complete the total 42 kilometer distance which stretches through Open University and International University of Malaya-Wales.
